Creation Tools

Here are some online tools that are useful for demonstrating what you have learned—many of them are creative, multi-media alternatives to PowerPoint that can be stored and accessed online from any location.

Animoto: turn your photos and music into stunning video slideshows.  You provide the photos, you pick the song, and they add the magic.

Easel.ly: a website that features thousands of free infographic templates and design objects which users can customize to create and share their visual ideas online.

Empressr: Tell your story anyway you like. Add photos, music, video, and audio, and share it publicly or privately in an instant.

Fotojet: An online tool for creating posters, magazine covers etc.  

Google Sites - sign in to Google and click on Sites to create your own website.  Allows you to upload your materials including files, PDFs, videos, pictures and more.

Glogster:  create an online dynamic “graphic artist” poster with text, graphics, images, music, sounds. 

Livebinders: create a digital “binder” of what you have learned

Make Beliefs Comix - create your own comic strip online

Museum box:  this site provides the tools for you to build up an argument or description of an event, person or historical period by placing items in a virtual box.  Your “evidence” can be virtually anything: text, pictures, video… View and comment on boxes created by your classmates. See Mrs. Vroom for access to our school account.

Prezi: it’s the new PowerPoint, but with a spin—you add all your stuff (text, image, video) to one large canvas, create a path, zoom in, zoom out, and add visual interest with motion. 

Shape collage:  make picture collages in less than a minute with just a few mouse clicks.  Use photos from your computer or from the web.  Make collages in any imaginable shape or form.=

Tagxedo:  It’s like wordl, except you get a cool image in the background too. 

Tiki Toki - create beautiful online interactive timelines.  See Mr Flokstra for the class code.

Voki: Create and use your own avatar to present your project

Weebly - create your own website in a matter of a few clicks.  

Wix.com:  create a webpage using drag & drop options.  It walks you through the whole process—very easy and professional looking. 

Creation Apps on the Learning Common’s iPads.  Remember they are only saved on the iPad you used to create it on, so remember the iPad number.
